Magazia village Skyros: Just 10 or 15 minutes walk from the main town of the capital and located on the eastern coast of the island is the charming village of Magazia. This village is gifted with one of the most famous sandy beaches with crystal blue waters in Skyros. The coastal resort of Magazia is being faster developed.
There are plenty of rooms, studios and apartments at Magazia for your nice stay here just about 100 metres away from the bay. The area has many restaurants and cafe-bars. Because of the many facilities available here, one can find Magazia as a base from which other parts of the island can be explored.
Magazia has fine dark sand and its name came from the gun powder magazines used to store there in the Venetian times. There are tourist rush here during the summer months. Shapes of church and caves like houses are carved into the rock at the northern end of the village. |
