Skyros: Town Skyros

Skyros Villages: Linaria village in Skyros Linaria Village : Linaria is a fishing village in the western coast of Skyros situated 10 km from the capital town Chora. It is the main port in the island and the key tourist route is through sea. There is also a regular bus service from this village to Chora town. There is always a strong wind blowing in the bay but Linaria is placed somewhat beside the hilly terrain safely away from the wind. There are many concrete houses and buildings fairly scattered around the harbor.

As it is the port village, one can find here cafe bars and some taverns where fresh sea fish, drinks and other goodies of the island are served. Linaria is a picturesque amphitheatric community built on the hills and provides splendid sun set views loved by the visitors. Tourists enjoy sailing here and there are several boat trips from the harbor to many lovely places around the island. There is also selection of studios and rooms to let. To the north of this picturesque village within walking distance is located the very attractive beach of Acherounes.
