lessons for mankind. After reading part of his works, Papadiamantis named Nirvanas his "fellow countryman", based on the closeness between Skiathos and Skopelos. Pavlos Nirvanas used to spend many summers on Skopelos. The beauty of the island gave him peace and inspiration to write his poems and dedicate time to his passion.
Today the Municipality of Skopelos, to honour the poet, has given the name of Nirvanas to a street on the island and the former house of the poet, next to the church of Trion Hierarchon, can still be visited.
