Skopelos Geography, Greece: Information about the geography of Skopelos, Sporades

 
Skopelos is the second largest of Sporades Islands, in the Aegean Sea; it is located east of Pelion and north of Evia.

It has an area of 96 square kilometres, a rugged coastline of 67 kilometres, 17 kilometres ling and 8 kilometres wide.
 
The second highest peak is Palouki, 566 metres high, located in the eastern side of the island.

Between those two mountains, to the north east, is the large bay where Skopelos Town is located. The second bay is on the south and is called Agnondas.
 
The island belongs to the province of Magnesia and forms the municipality of Skopelos.

The highest mountain of Skopelos is Delphi, situated in the centre of the island, and it is rising at an altitude of 680 metres.
 
Skopelos has 5700 inhabitants mostly living from agriculture, seafaring, farming and tourism (during the summer).
