Agios Ioannis beach Skopelos: Agios Ioannis is one of the most picturesque locations in Skopelos. Its crystal waters and the natural beauty are some of the features that compose the significance of this place, located on the northern side of the island, 30km from Skopelos town and 8 km from Glossa.

Like most of the beaches on the island, Agios Ioannis beach has turquoise waters and a majestic landscape. Usually, it doesn't get very crowded and has no tourist facilities around. There is the church of Agios Ioannis perched high on the rocks overlooking the small cove offering an extraordinary view to the coasts of Skopelos and Alonissos.

The church has gained popularity over the lasy years, when scenes from the American film "Mamma Mia" (2008, starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan) were actually shot there. To go to the church on top of the rock, you need to climb 105 steps but the view you will enjoy is splendid.
