I always wanted to visit Skiathos as it seemed a great island to me from the photos I had seen. Indeed it is a great island with gorgeous beaches. Village life is not so good, except for Skiathos town which is the only descent village to visit. The rest are very traditional and not organized at all. My best activity in Skiathos town was dining!! It had every type of restaurant possible, from the cheap to the expensive. The food in general was excellent and the service very friendly. You have to go to Skiathos town for evening entertainment- eating or drinking, it is just lovely.
