The town is actually the only organized village of Skiathos but the other settlements seem to have only a few amenities for tourists. I guess when tourists go away, these villages are left with a few only inhabitants. The town though seems more populated (at least, in summer!). It has banks, stores, places to eat, everything. I just have two remarks: first, I had an unpleasant experience when the ATM kept my card inside and I had to borrow money from a friend for the weekend (it was Saturday evening when I lost my card and I went back to the bank Monday morning to get it back) and second, I didn't see a summer cinema in Skiathos. I think it would be nice to build an open cinema on the Castle.
