Wanna stay forever

Skiathos Review:
I have been reading both good and bad about Skiathos on this site and I really think the bad things come from someone who has held their holliday according to a travel-bruchure...
My boyfriend and I went to Skiathos for a week and things havent been the same since we arrived back home. We spend the week on our own without thinking obout where the travel-brochures told us to go. We found our own favorite beaches and our own favorite tavernas. We went up north by "boogie" (the 2-person "beach-boogie" you can rent in the town) and after a fantastic, funny, beatifull trip up the mountains we came to an amazing laguna with mountains on each side and crystal clear water. At that moment I felt total happiness. The beauty we discovered on that trip is without words. The smiles and the frienliness from people living on the island was amazing too. The calmness among people was soothing for the soul.
I really think tourists expect too much when they arrive to the island. Its such a small island and ofcause it will seem crowded with tourists, even when theres only a small amount of them... Then you just have to find the places where there are no tourists and thats pretty easy actually...
Both my boyfriend and I lost our hearts down there and we're dreaming (planning?)on going down there with our kids and staying there for good. After comming home we have really exprienced the difference between a hectic life here and the calming beauty on Skiathos.
You just have to have the right attitude and find the right places on Skiathos and you will find that the island is a piece of paradise....
