Very beautiful and restful

Skiathos Review:
We loved the island of Skiathos. Even in the middle of high season, it was full mostly of Greek tourists, very beautiful and restful. The beaches are lovely - soft sand - unusual for Greece! The water was clean and clear - turquiose blue - great for swimming - also for the kids. The one just next to the Princess Hotel (bus stop 16) was the best. The city of Skiathos is fun to walk through, but a bit crowded in August. We ate at a variety of Tavernas all over the island. Mostly we encountered delicious fresh food and great service. We were a little disappointed that fish was, however, very expensive and that the "Meze" style of lots of little dishes was not really typical to Skiathos. Still, very good food. Extra buses during August might be nice. At times we really had to squeeze to fit on the bus! Also would be good to have a bit more stoplights so crossing the street outside of the city (near Atrium Hotel) is not so dangerous! Take the slow ferry at least one part of the route - you might see dolphins like we did!
