Nice but some disappointing things

The trip: I went first to visit the are of Pelion (amazing) and then we took the boat to Bolos. It was a fast boat and the the trip was fine.
Reasons for going to Skiathos: The main reason is that it is close to my friend's family house on the mainland. Mainland was great but wanted to go on a green island. I love the fact to be surrounded by water.
Idea before arriving: That it would have great beaches, beautiful landscapes, beautiful villages, sea food and that it would be a green and small island.
Expectations and opinions: It met my expectations because is really beautiful but I found it much too touristy. The island must had been a heaven 20-30 years ago. Now, most of the beaches are surrounded by hotels. It seems that there are many packages trips on this particular island as there is an airport and that sometimes you feel that things were made for brits. Many pubs but you can only find pubs were brits go: Rhodes, Zakynthos, etc...
Favorite thing about Skiathos: The friendliness of the people, the food, the views etc...
Negative opinion: The beach of Koukounaries is really disapointing! It is said that it is an area for the protection of the nature but how can they protect the nature with watersports on the beach and the noise of the jet skis!!! And I have never seen any beach in Greece with such amount of sun beds. The beach of Banana just next to it is much better!
Recommendations: Road are small, people drive like crazy and no sidewalk. Be aware.
No, I don't think I will go to Skiathos again. Want to also visit Alonissos, Skopelos and Skyros.
