Review: Koukounaries-one of the lovliest places ever

More about: Skiathos island
We stayed at the Madraki Hotel in Koukounaries in July 2007. The village itself is laid back, with a selection of bars and restaurants serving mainly traditional greek food, but a selection of international dishes are also available.
Koukounaries Beach is one on the nicest places I've ever visited. The soft golden beach looks as though someone has put tons on silver glitter in it. It is kept spotlessly clean. The water is so clear you can see the seabed at all depths; there are thousands of fish which literally eat out of your hand. There are a selection of bars and several water sports to choose from.
The Mandraki Hotel has been renovated this year and is decorated and maintained to an extremely high standard. The staff are extremely efficient, helpful and friendly.
The Elia restaurant, which is part of the hotel, is wonderful. The food and presentation is excellent and would not be out of place in any European city hotel.
I would thoroughly recommend both the village and the hotel to anyone.
