More about: Skiathos island
It was a long trip from Thessaloniki to Agios Constantinos by car and then by ferry to Skiathos, but we had the chance to see lovely places in Greece. We rented a car from Thessaloniki airport and had to go to Agios Constantinos, about 7 hours away, to get the ferry because ferries from Volos don't take cars, only passengers.
The first thing to see as you arrive in
Skiathos is the big clock tower and the small green island in the port. The town is so lovely with those narrow streets and the beautiful cafes. The best cafe was in the old port (don't remember the name) and it had pillows instead of chairs. Smart idea!
You need transportation to get all over Skiathos because the island is big. Even though we enjoy walking, we would not walk in Skiathos except maybe from a couple of beaches close to the town. The western part was very green and had annoying bees. Have a gel for bee sticking just in case.
Bars and clubs are great but be careful with prices. A beer might cost 5 euros in one place and 10 euros in the bar right next door! The same happens with restaurants, so check the prices in the menus before you enter.
