On July 25th, there is a large celebration with dancing, food and drinks on the occasion of the feast of Agia Paraskevi. The panigiri starts after the evening litany of the icon in the streets of Skiathos Town.

March 25th

Cultural events

Katsonia Festival

The Katsonia Festival takes place in September in Skiathos island in commemoration of the Greek submarine "Lambros Katsonis" which was sunk off Skiathos, in September 1943, during the Second World War. On that day, the locals throw flowers in the Aegean Sea.

Bourtzi Festival

In summer, various cultural events take place in Bourtzi, the old fortress located between the old and the new port of Skiathos. The schedule includes theatre performances, art exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, even Greek-shadow theatre (Karagiozis) performances.
