Skiathos Festivals

Local festivities are taking place with music, food and drink during the celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin (August, 15th). Another great religious festival is the name day of Agios Georgios, in April when big celebrations and horse races to the lake are organized. That day also the locals dance Kamara.

During the summer various cultural events are organized by the local council on the peninsula of Bourtzi, located between the old and the new harbour.
