There are few lovely trails that offer outstandingly beautiful views. One of the best trails is from Troulos to Kounistra Monastery and Kechria and a return trip via the valley beneath.
Skiathos Town is the capital village and main port of the island. Set amphitheatrically around a small bay, the town has traditional architecture, green surroundings and picturesque neighborhoods. A small islet called Bourtzi with a ruined fortress on it stands at the entrance of the port. Tour boats leave from this port and go to Lalaria, an marvelous region with sea caves on the northern side of Skiathos island. Close to Lalaria, there is also a ruined Castle, a lovely spot for sightseeing and trekking.
Apart from its golden beaches and the picturesque locations, Skiathos island is also famous for its vibrant nightlife, which is why it attracts many young visitors. Various festivals and cultural events are also organized in summer, promoting the traditional aspect of Skiathos island. |
