Category: Alonissos Marpounta
Private Beach? When we went to Marponda beach today we actually could not reach it as it was behind gates to a private area. Some sort of club. Disappointment.

Category: Alonissos Glyfa
Glyfa is a really beautiful and picturesque beach. It is not very long, but it usually doesn't get very crowded, even in high season. The shoreline is pebbled, which I prefer because sand doesn't stick on you. The water in Glyfa is perfect, warm and clean. Do not rely on public buses to go, because their itinerary is not very prompt. Prefer to rent a scooter and make the tour of the island. Glyfa is in the centre of the island, but rather far from Patitiri, the capital village of Alonissos.

Category: Alonissos Lakes
I have been going to Alonissos every summer for the last four years. It is a great island to spend some relaxing time with no big crowds around you. I think ther best beach on Alonissos is Lakes. As it rarely gets overcrowded, it is ideal for a good day in the sun. The windmill in front of the bay is the trademark of Lakes. You will love the clean water and the pebbles on the coast. You can easily go to Lakes from Patitiri, the road is fine.

Category: Alonissos Chrisi Milia
The beach of Chrisi Milia is just lovely. Extremely clean water and great for snorkelling. It was also very safe for my kids because the seafloor was too sandy and their feet didn't get hurt from the rocks, as in other beaches of Alonissos. Chrisi Milia had some sun beds, but you have to go early to catch one, because the visitors of the nearby hotels were many. For me, it was the best beach of Alonissos.
