Cultural and athletic festivals also take place in spring, such as
“Kalogiannia” festival on the first days of May. Both locals and tourists take the opportunity to attend the various concerts, plays, and exhibitions in the summer.
Those festivals usually culminate in the re-enactment of an island wedding, a ceremony that tourists enjoy very much, as the groom and bride wear traditional costumes and free local dishes are served along with traditional music and dances.
The local dance group organises a festival on May 26th, offering traditional dances in a colourful and lively festivity.
June 16th: Fried horn beam and free wine are usually offered to tourists, along with orchestra music and dances.
