Alonissos: Megalos Mourtias Alonissos

Megalos Mourtias Beach Alonissos: Megalos Mourtias is a rather pebbled beach, like most of the beaches in Alonissos. This is the closest beach to Chora, the old capital of the island, offering numerous facilities within a short distance. Walking on the pebbles can be quite uncomfortable, so make sure you have your shoes on before you find a place to lie down. Its crystal clear waters are very calm since the beach is protected from strong winds. There are some taverns in the area serving delicious seafood and fresh salads. In close distance, there is also the lovely beach of Marpounta, also located in the southern side of the island.
