Usually, there is sunny weather in the area of Glyfa Beach, and travellers enjoy long beach days and receiving the evening while having a drink or tasting traditional dishes by the tavern veranda. These by-the-beach establishments serve a different fresh seafood dish everyday, which allows for tasting the different traditional specialties.
There are plenty of accommodations, taverns, shops, mini markets and a camp site in the village nearby, where the visitor can buy some food and drink for the beach day and then stay on Glyfa Beach to lay on the sun, swim in the peaceful clean waters. Some visitors also take the opportunity to take the water taxi –in service only during high season - to spend the day in Agios Dimitros beach, or rent a boat to visit the other islands nearby.
Glyfa beach is a nice sandy beach with some small pebbles that is worth a visit if the tourist likes the tranquil atmosphere of a non crowded beach. It is easy to reach by taxi, via the regular bus service from Patitiri – just a 20 minute drive. The view to the sea from the green hillsides in solitude is one of the best natural features Glyfa Beach has to offer, but remember that you will be able to find suitable accommodation properties to spend several days here, and then visit the village and the islands nearby.
