Villages: Dapia village in Spetses |
Dapia Village Spetses: Dapia is the heart of Spetses Town and is the new harbour of the island, located in a small area and is the latest settlement of the island.
All the business constructions in that district are painted in white and blue, a symbol of the maritime culture of Spetses.
A flat wave-breaker fortifies the district and protects it from the winds and the wild sea.
The main road is a cobblestone coastal road delimited by two churches that stand on each side of it. There is a square located in the middle of the road, and it is the place where, in the 1820s, the island's seafaring leaders met to organise their revolt against the Turks.
It is also where most of the cafes are gathered.
The Plateia Roloyiou or Clock Square is located on the eastern side of Dapia, and is where all the touristy restaurants and snack-barscan be found. |
