 Because motorised vehicles are forbidden on Hydra, the only means of transport are donkeys and taxi-boats.
Donkeys and mules can be hired everywhere in the capital and are an enjoyable, picturesque and original way to visit the island and its monasteries.
The taxi-boats are mooring on Hydra Town’s harbour and will take the visitor to all the swimming rocky places and the few beaches of the island; they also effectuate day trips to the neighbouring island of Aegina, Poros and Spetses.
