The trip: I got to the island by hydrofoil it was bout 90 minutes from Piraeus. The hydrofoil gets you there quickly but it is as noisy as an airplane.
Reasons for going to Hydra: My traveling companion was stationed in Greece in the 1980?s.
Expectations and opinions: It met and exceeded my expectations.

Best restaurant: A Hidden Cove, 2 blocks from the port, under a giant lemon tree.
Negative opinion: It was perfect
Recommendations: Spend at least four days and many more if possible.
I would definitely come back to Hydra
