Beaches are not the main attraction of Hydra and are maybe its only negative point. The main bathing areas are situated over the rocky coastline, between the harbour and Kaminia.

A very few spots can be qualified as real beaches since they are usually composed of pebble.

Nevertheless, the water is always crystal-clear and has an amazing colour.
 
Avlaki 

Location: The beach after Spilia, the closest to the town
Description: Consists of a few small stretches of pebble forming a tiny beach

Hydroneta

Location: Next to Spilia beach
Description: rocky swimming area with cemented sun decks and profound blue waters

Location: Between Vlihos and Hydra Town
Description: Small fishing port surrounded by a few taverns

Description: The grey crags have been blasted and laid with cement which is forming sun decks.

Description: It is one of the very few true beaches of the island of Hydra
