Hydra Hotel

The sponge factory established by Nickolaos Verneniotis in 1860 has been lovingly restored and turned into one of the most charming small hotels in Greece. Only two minutes walking distance from the port in a secluded court- yard it is open 11 months of the year. Twenty three rooms - typical Hydriot architecture at its best - a magnificent garden with a crystal, clear pool.

In 1962 the original mansion was converted into a hotel and it is renovated every year with the loving discrimination of the pure connoisseur to make it one of Hydra's A' class hotels. Miranda Hotel is consisted of single, standard double and special rooms. The hotel has a beautiful patio, where people can enjoy a traditional homemade breakfast. In many of the rooms you will see the old hand-painted ceilings which were executed by Florentine and Venetian artists brought from Italy by the wealthy Hydriots.
