Agistri Excursions, Greece: Information about the excursions on Agistri, Saronic

For those who seek to add some variety to their holidays there are good news – they can go on a number of pretty good excursions and day trips from and to Agistri.

On Agistri

Some tourists like adding some activity in their beach days, and the inner area of Agistri is ideal for a walk in the pine woods. Although it is an activity tourists can take part in all year round, Spring and Summer are the best seasons to enjoy the smell of the wild species and the pines. The woods are a good shelter from the hot weather, especially in August!

Needless to say that there are a number of paths to follow in the woods offering stunning views, so get your camera ready! You can also take the opportunity of a one-day walk around the island. To start your day’s walk you can depart from Skala and walk for the whole day around Agistri, across to Limenaria or the secluded Aponissos beach.

Around Agistri

Tourists always enjoy boat trips around the island. It is an excellent opportunity to see the numerous coves on Agistri..

To Hydra

Hydra, a mythological island nearby, receives the visitor with an impressive horse-shoe harbour, made of marble in the old years. Its taverns, restaurants, and shops are the ideal complement for a memorable visit. On Hydra’s inland, the villages with traditional white washed houses, the lush green hills, and the antique stone narrow streets and paths invite the visitor to stay for more than just one day.

To Spetses

Spetses is ideal for visitors who are fond of architecture, as the island counts on a remarkable heritage. The antique harbour is also worth a visit, and visitors then set off to enjoy the sandy beaches, explore the coves, or go for a walk in the pine forest. Spetses is reachable by water taxi and the ferry regular services, even in the evening.

To Aegina

There are boat excursions to Aegina from Agistri, or it is also possible to take a water taxi - operating 24 hours a day - or a car ferry. Visitors enjoy the hospitable taverns serving delicious traditional fish-based dishes under the cool shade of arbours. There are also a couple of markets to visit, comfortable cafés, and the opportunity to take a walk along the pistachio groves covering the island, even in the area close to the sea.

To the Greek Mainland – Peloponnese

Regular ferry and taxi services communicate Agistri with the Peloponnese. Visitors really enjoy this excursion, as most well known museums and archaeological sites are in that area. They can also explore Nafplion, a picturesque Venetian village, or take the ferry to Epidavros to attend the Summer Art Festival at the ancient theater in the evening. All in all, there is no place for boredom if you are staying on Agistri.

You can either take some of the day trip excursions on Agistri, or go on an excursion to the close islands, such as Hydra, Spetses, or Aegina. Even in the Peloponesse mainland, at just one hour by boat, you can enjoy well known archaeological monuments and have a good time. That is the reason why visitors come back to Agistri over and over again.
