The church of Virgin Mary in Agistri: The beautiful church of Virgin Mary, or else Panagia, is located in Metochi village, one of the four villages of Agistri island. This is where many trekking routes end in Agistri. The church is found on a hill top area and so visitors will need to climb up the hillside in order to get on this hillside point.
The architecture of the church is simple and reminds of the Cycladic chapels: small and white-painted. From there, you can experience a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. |
