Aegina has a tremendously charming atmosphere. We visited last spring. Our hotel was located in the main town along the waterfront. Aegina is 1 hour away from Piraeus, by ferry! We got to see her for the first time, on our way to Agistri. The ferry to Agistri has a stop over the port of Aegina for some minutes, on its way to Agistri. The first impression of the island port was so nice, that we visited the place some days after!... I was surprised to see such a lovely island and with clean waters so close to Athens. I thought that you have to travel far from Athens to fidn nice beaches and rural life, but apparently I hadn't thought of Aegina. It was my first time there and I liked it a lot.
