General: Ideal place to rest and swim

In September 2011 I found this wonderful island. An ideal place for rest, beach and swimming. I was staying at the guesthouse summer dreams, whose hosts are very nice and helpful. The guesthouse is tastefully arranged, it is very clean and located in a quiet area. Not to be missed beaches that stretch the entire circumference of the island, some inhabited, others wild and lonely.

Such a beautiful beach: lovely soft sand, water not deep, excellent for children or adults, greenery all around. You forget where you are and really really relax! Must go!

Alyki Beach is fantastic, crystal clear water on both sides of a little stretch of land, excellent fish tavernas, relaxed atmosphere, but most of all, archaelogical ruins you can wander amongst undisturbed by time... snorkel in what was once marble shipping area, remains of Christian basilicas... you can almost imagine St Paul landing here, speaking here to the people... for lovers of history, ...

Thassos is one of the excellent place for visitors in Greece. It is not expensive, also very peacefull place. I recommend to visit Potos and also the monastery and the monastery's beach. It is about 15 km far from Thassos, you will see a wonderfull beach and also a monastery very close to the beach. If you like nightlife, Potos also is a good option.

Thassos is the nearest island to Kavala, where we had to go two summers ago for a family thing, so we decided to spend a couple of days there. Indeed, beaches are very nice but some of them can get too crowded. Hotels are a bit expensive, compared to the facilities they offer.
