I expected Skiathos more crowded, but actually it was a rather quiet island. Probably because we went there in the mid of September. Anyway, we loved the island!! Great long beaches and excellent people. We found a lot of hospitality on Skiathos and everyone was genuinly welcoming us. People was stopping to talk to us as if we were neighbours for years! Probably one of the best beaches on Skiathos!! Very long, very sandy, very clean. I couldn't get enough of laying onto the umbrella for infinite hours. Taverns and beach bars along the coast. Nice hotels and the beach in general gets very crowded.

We enjoyed our stay on Skiathos a lot. The landscapes were beautiful, many trees on the island, amazing beaches. The beach we liked most was Little Banana. The only drawback was that we rented a small flat, but we couldn't pay with our credit-cards. When you travel abroad, it's difficult to get cash to pay hotels, apartments and so on. I went to Skiathos only because my girlfriend wanted to. The island was beautiful, with amazing landscapes, full of green, beaches with crystal clear waters. There are many places to visit, a lot of sites to see and the public transportation had a very good service. However, it is a small island with a lot of tourist features that made me very tired, no village people, no unique local features....

We loved the island of Skiathos. Even in the middle of high season, it was full mostly of Greek tourists, very beautiful and restful. The beaches are lovely - soft sand - unusual for Greece! The water was clean and clear - turquiose blue - great for swimming - also for the kids. The one just next to the Princess Hotel (bus stop 16) was the best. First went to Skiathos in June 1998 and loved it - hence our return in 2004 with our little family. We loved Vromolimnous beach and still do! I have been to Skiathos on 4 occasions, and this June I hope to make it 5. In my opinion, this island has everything.
