General: Family trip

Rhodes is a big island and you will need a car to get around. If that is not possible, there are local buses that depart from the city center to many villages and beaches. Especially the tourist places have very frequent connection to Rhodes Town.

As a family of 5, it is often difficult for us to find the right accommodation, but in <a href="http://www.greeka.com/dodecanese/rhodes/index.htm...

General: See for yourself

If you think of visiting a Greek island for their family vacations, I can say that Rhodes is definitely this place. Rhodes is among the biggest islands in Greece and has many beauties to see. I went to Rhodes last summer with my two daughters. We stayed in a wonderful hotel in Kallithea with great facilities, especially for my two children. <a href="http://www.greeka.com/dodecanese/rhodes/index...

Villages: Sweet memory from a hot noon

The Neoclassical Library in the main square is probably the most scenic picture of Kremasti. A tiny village with stone houses, very typical of the other villages in Rhodes, it distinguishes only for the beautiful library. In the square, there is also a lovely cafe that offered us much comfort under the tree shade in a hot summer afternoon. Thanks a lot! we have sweet memories of this afternoon ...

Beaches: Will enjoy more in low season

This one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes, my friends! It took its name because this is where Saint Paul landed on Rhodes to preach Christianity. This lovely beach with the soft sand gets very busy in high season, but if you go in early June like we did, you will love it even more. Busy crowds won't disturb you, only few tourists and locals will be on the beach and all the umbrellas will...

General: Watch the world go by

My husband and I visited Rhodes last Sept. We stayed in Rhodes Town, our hotel was close to Mandraki Harbour a wonderful place with lots of boat trips available. Rhodes Old Town is so beautiful, the cobbled streets transport you back in time, lots to do and see. We took boat trips to Lindos and Simi and they are not to be missed. Lots of great restaurants to relax and enjoy a nice meal and wat...

General: New things to do every time

I have been to Rhodes four times in the last 5 years and every time I visit this island, I seem to be seeing and doing new things, and my holiday seems to be getting more interesting than the previous one. Personally, I don't care much about reviews, raving or otherwise, because I am one of those who believe that a holiday is what you make it out to be. All places have a balance of the good and...

General: Imposing sites and beaches

I spent a week in Rhodes, and I realized that it wasn't quite enough. The island is one of the largest in the Dodecanese and has so much to offer that it is quite impossible to see all of it in a week. I also needed to do a project on a historical site for my term assignment and what better place to choose than the Old Town of Rhodes with its Knight's street, the Palace of the Grandmaster and t...

General: Let yourself go crazy

Rhodes is one of the biggest and most beautiful islands we have visited in Greece! We've been there twice and still we haven't seen everything! I love it mostly because in <a href="http://www.greeka.com/dodecanese/rhodes/index.htm" class="greeka">Rhodes </a>there is something for all tastes: amazing beaches, green forests in the centre of Rhodes to walk, delicious food, great sightseeing.
General: Holidays to remember for long

Rhodes is a very big island and certainly you will not see it all in a few days. That's my first point. Have at least a week to spare, or you will love it so much that you'll want to come back to see what you've left out. My second point. Do not book far from the most popular resorts (unless you have a car) because buses go only to the frequented places.

General: Loved each beach separately

All beaches in Rhodes are great, we loved each one separately and for different reasons. Faliraki for its music beach bars, Afandou for the watersports, Kallithea for the rocky landscape, Tsambika for the clean water and the list goes on...

Our hotel was in Afandou and this is where we spent most of our days but we travelled a lot around and saw beautiful places. <a href="http://www.greeka....

Villages: Huge castle itself

Rhodes town is really impressive. Is not just the town near the port that you have to spend some time, or the one that you rush to pass, in order to visit a beautiful village or beach on the island. The town itself is beautiful. The city is divided to New and Old town. The new one is mainly Italian influenced, with lots of parks and squares. The Old town is one of the best tourist attractions o...

General: Feel the history

Rhodes is an island that always reminds me of my teenage years since it is an old tradition here in Greece that during your last years in school you go a five day tour with your classmates and teachers. We were wearing huge sombrero hats and going all way round the magnificent medieval castle in the night (it is almost half of the city and it's a monument listed in Unesco!!) in the center of th...

General: Beautiful sites and locations

We visited Rhodes on our way to Mykonos. We stayed there for 5 days to see the island but of course we only managed some places, as it is so big. The island was clean, the beaches were gorgeous and the ancient sites sprawled over were marvelous. We had stayed at a boutique hotel in Rhodes city. This hotel was in fact in the Old Town in the city. Here we got to see some splendid medieval archite...

General: Wonderful sites and museums

Rhodes is absolutely fantastic. Clean beaches, excellent roads, beautiful sites and villages and a lot of historical monuments. Everything which has to be seen was easy to reach. When this east coast road is finished, it will be even better. The Old Town is a beauty itself, every time we visited we found something new to see. Visit the museums to get a real view of the island's culture. My chil...

Beaches: Extend opening hours of monuments

The trip to Rhodes was very long (18 hours by ferry) but fortunately there were no delays. Last summer, we had travelled by ferry again and the departure was 2 hours late. We had been more tired of the delay than the trip. Fortunately, this time all went good.

We love all the greek islands but and we are coming for relaxing every year. This time we were looking for something more traditiona...
