What I most liked in Lemnos were the ancient sites. The island is full of history and you can see its traces all over it. The Castle of Myrina was wondeful to explore and so was the site of Ifestia. I was very satisfied from everything, especially the food & wine. We went to visit my daughter, who was working at a hotel in Myrina for the summer. The island is very quiet with few english tourists. We flew with Thomas Cook - you can book a flight for half the price of Olympic Airlines. There are ferries but we didn't manage to sort them out. Island is not picturesque but the friendly atmosphere and feeling of safety at all times compensates.
