General: Golden and blue

We hadn't heard of Koufonisia until we saw a ferry schedule in the port of Naxos with the itineraries of Skopelitis, a lovely ship that serves local itineraries between Naxos, Amorgos and some small islands of the Aegean. So, we thought, why not try another island, just for a day?

Eventually we discovered that Kouf...

General: Pure and traditional

Unfortunately, we went to Koufonisia only for a day with the boat from Naxos, but if I knew this place before, we would surely stay for at least a week. I would happily exchange my busy holidays in Ios (we went there after Naxos) for a week in shinny, lovely Koufonisia!

Believe me, you haven't seen cleaner water...

General: Cheaper than ever

We went to Koufonisia for two days from Naxos. This was our first time to this beautiful island with the gorgeous beaches. You will find the best water there and the cheapest food. Get the boat to Kato Koufonisi, that is not inhabited and try the beaches there. Gorgeous!! This is the cleanest water ever! Hike around the island and eat in small taverns next to the sea. You can have fresh fish at...

General: Nothing else except for nice beaches

Beaches on Koufonisia were truly great. Finikas and Pori are the best. However, there is nothing more than that: gorgeous beaches. No sites to see, no nightlife and quite crowded in late August. I went to Koufonisia by boat from Naxos for four days and I believe they were enough. The only village is on Pano Koufonisi. Kato Koufonisi is totally uninhabited. Book early because hotels on the islan...

General: Many beauties in a small island

I didn't expect so many beauties from such a small island. Koufonisia indeed has some of the best beaches in Greece. Pori, Gala and Nero are wonderful to swim and lay on the soft sand all day. It is very easy to go to the beaches, as taxi boats make tours every day. Or you can try walking, if you don't get tired easily. We stayed for 4 days in Koufonisia, so we had the chance to see all of the ...

General: Something of the old times

The island has something of the old times: you can walk to get everywhere, you can swim everywhere. Better get there without a car, especially if you do not have children, so that you will not spoil the calm vibe of Koufonisia. Gorgeous beaches all over the island, even in Kato Koufonisi, where you go by tour boat. Best restaurants Remezzo, Kapetan Nikolas, Michalios and Atairiastoi. The price...

General: Beaches out this world

You don't go to Koufonisia for clubbing, but for its great nature. The beaches are out of this world. I have never seen so gorgeous color tones in any beach I have been to. It was a wonderful sight and a pleasure to swim in. Pori, Fano, Kato Koufonissi, Italida... I can't choose the beach beach, all amazing!! Also, I was absolutely thrilled with the food. It seemed like wherever we chose to eat...

Beaches: Completely isolate in April

I was at Koufonisia in April, which is not high season for this island. It was me and my boyfriend at Pori, a very long beach with no people around, which was natural for such a small and isolate place. This was our best time on Koufonisia. I hate crowded beaches and people yelling and screaming. I prefer calm beaches like Pori. I don't know how this beach would be in summer, where there will b...

General: Definitely swim in Gala

Koufonisia is a small island close to Naxos. We went there last September while we were sailing around Greece. It was a tiny island, just as expected. However, there were many tourists and plenty of bars by the sea. My favourite beach was Gala, I hadn't seen a sea landscape like that. It was a breathtaking view, a small beach and a huge rock above it. There wasn't another village except for Cho...

General: The sea is fantastic!

Hello! MY name is Giusy, I'm 38 and I'm Italian. I visited KOufonisia from 21st of last August to the 2nd of September. I used the plane from Italy and then we took the boat to the island. The flight from Italy was really terrible, but I found the trip with the boat very funny! We and my friens love Greece and we like to discover different islands and places every year. I took the information I...
