General: Boring without friends

It was my wife's wish to spend our summer holidays in Ithaca. It was actually a green island but too quiet, there was no particular nightlife. We went by boat from Patras and I have to say that the vessel was old and the port of Ithaca needed reconstruction. The beaches were nice and clean but quite rocky. Loutsa beach was the only sandy one and suitable for the kids. Ithaca is a lovely island ...

Many interesting things to see for such a small island. And its extremely beautiful. Loved the monastery of Katharon. There are small beaches everywhere which are very beautiful, clean and peaceful. Loved them all! Just be sure to take umbrellas with you since the beaches are not organized. Nothing further than that! Relax and enjoy it! Our wish to step and live a bit in Ithaki, a mithology island, was the reason we chose this particular island.
