Santorini: Dreaming of vows renewal

I have connected Santorini with the best trip of my life, my honeymoon! We got married in a legal wedding here in the UK and then we went to Santorini for the honeymoon. From the time the ferry approached the port, I was amazed by the view, the small white houses on top of the caldera.

Our hotel was in Imerovigli and the honeymoon suite had the most gorgeous view. To see the sun rising from...

Mykonos: Lots of partying

Mykonos is awesome! So many great beaches and lots of partying! With the scooter you can visit some amazing places. Paranga beach is beautiful, as is Platis Gialos. The sea is like the sea of the carribean! And they have some great restaurants. Paradise beach is the place to be at 5pm when Tropicana bar starts pumping out the music! There are also 2 great clubs there. Paradise Club and Cavo Pa...

Meteora: Never saw rocks like these

It is simply an amazing place. I have traveled a great deal and I have never seen rocks like these! The hikes are amazing, there are a million fab picnic spots. If you want to drive, the roads are excellent (possible a bit hairy in the winter if it's icy) and the signs are plentifyl. Only 4 hours easy drive from Athens. The Monastaries are fascinating. There is also a lovely convent where the n...

Athens: Lovely flower pots in Plaka

This time in Athens, we stayed in Plaka in a small family hotel. The entire neighbourhood is very charming and picturesque. The historical buildings and monuments tell us about the past of the town, All the houses here have beautiful architecture and the flower pots that the locals keep on their verandas are too unique. It was bizarre how the atmosphere changed a few blocks further with the bus...

Nisyros: Risky experience

I had heard about Nisyros from some friends who spent two weeks there, but we went only for a day from Kos. There are boats from Kardamena in Kos that go to Nisyros in the morning and come back in the evening. It is a small island but loveable, with cute white houses and nice people. I was surprised that so few gift...

Lassithi: Spinaloga and Vai Beach

Most known place in Lassithi is Elouda. If you get there, then Spinaloga is only 15 minutes away, reachable by small boats. That small island is perfect to spend your day in and explore the small hidden beaches. Usually, you find many tourists there who take the excursion boat. There is a strong old fortress but till a few decades ago, it is an island of lepers.

I also enjoyed another thing...

Tinos: Sacred and beautiful

Most Greeks know Tinos from the Church of Virgin Mary. Every 15 of August, Tinos becomes the center of Greece, with thousands of people visiting this church. To visit and see the sacred icon you have to wait a long queue, even when it's not August, 15. This was the reason we first visited Tinos. My sister had made a pro...

Lesvos: Buy ouzo and oil for home

Lesvos has some of the most wonderful landscapes. The combination of mountains and plains with pristine beaches on a rugged coastline looked extremely picturesque. The mountains were filled with numerous olive trees and the locals told us that there were almost 11 million of them on Lesvos.
Kalymnos: More earthen colours

Kalymnos is a typical Greek island, maybe a bit different in colours. Colours in Kalymnos are not so much blue and white, but earthern colours, like brown and yellow. I think this is because mountains dominate in Kalymnos and this has affected the architecture. Many people I know go to Kalymnos for climbing, but th...

Heraklion: Needs a summer to see all

Andros: Something artistic

Well, not be cheeky and judge, Andros has nothing to keep you in Gavrio where your ship will reach first. Just go straight to Batsi where all summer visitors are gathered. But I did not like the beach there because the water is too shallow, suitable I guess for small children!

Stenies is a fascinating all-green mountainous village with a tower to see and pose for souvenir photos. Apikia an...

Delphi: Peaceful place

Ios: Just clubs and beaches
