Although most of the foreign visitors to Olympia think that the only thing worth visiting in the area is the archaeological site, the truth is that there is a modern town of Olympia, too, with white, tile-roofed houses that pop out of the green forest on a hill, offering all the amenities -shops, restaurants, hotels etc- a visitor may need.
