Archaeological Museum of Nafplion

Dotted with relics dating back to the Neolithic period, the city of Nafplion is an enthralling experience.

Apart from the monuments, there are several museums, displaying hundreds of artifacts used by the inhabitants of this civilization.

At 13, Sofroni Street, between Staikopoulou Square and Panagia Church is the Archeological Museum in a Neoclassical building exhibiting items from the
Folklore Museum of Nafplion

The Folklore ‘Laografiko’ Museum displays more than 20000 items mainly of regional art, traditional costumes, embroidered and woven articles, implements and utensils as well as old-city maps. A small shop on the 2nd floor sells items like CDs of local music, books, calendars etc.

War Museum of Nafplion

The War Museum on 22, Amalias Avenue displays weapons used by the soldiers of this historic
Children's Museum and Komboloi Museum

Some other interesting museums are the Children’s museum and the Komboloi Museum.

The Komboloi Museum has a collection of about 1000 worry beads from the 18th to the 20th century. These beads are made of amber, seashells, corals and crystals.

The shop in the museum allows visitors to buy replicas of these beads.
