The settlement has different places to satisfy all the tourists’ needs. There is a market to buy food and the basic things. At the seafront there are restaurants offering traditional dishes, while there are also taverns and bars to go out at night.
There are many hotels and rooms to rent. In the village there is a bank, a travel agency and a post office. There are also shops to buy ravishing souvenirs, such as ceramics, almond toffees, medieval souvenirs, jewels and much more. Monemvasia has really good agricultural products, such as citrus fruit and olive oil, while you shouldn’t miss the chance of tasting the traditional almond sweets.
In July the History and Art Symposium takes place, so if tourists are planning to go to Pera Kakavos this is a good time. |
