
Travel to Gythio by
car
If you want to drive from Athens to Gythio, you take the National Highway that links Athens to Corinth. After you pass the Corinth Channel, you take the Highway to Tripoli. From Tripoli, you go to Sparta. Note that the road to Spart is not a Highway but a rural road. From Sparta, you follow the signs to Gythio. The distance from Athens to Gythio is 270 km, while from Sparta is about 40 km.

The most frequent way to go to Gyhtio is by bus from Athens. There are KTEL coaches making this trip about 4 times daily. They depart from the bus terminal located in 100, Kifissou St., and the trip takes about four and a half hours.
