Ermioni Town

General information

Ermioni Town, Peloponnese: Ermioni is a beautiful seaside town in southern Argolida, Saronic Gulf. This lovely place with a vivid island character is built next to a pine forest at the edge of a peninsula. A hydrofoil connects Ermioni to Piraeus and the island of Hydra. Ermioni is considered a beautiful island, ideal for family vacation, for its tranquil environment and lush green surroundings.

Its charming port begins from the north and ends in Bisti at the south, whereas on the west side there is the green field of Ermioni, a vast fertile area filled with oranges, mandarins, olives and natural pomegranates of excellent quality.

Today, Ermioni displays some remarkable tourist facilities and is an excellent choice to spend some quiet holidays with your friends and family. It is definitely not as cosmopolitan as Hydra and Spetses but at the traditional taverns along the port you will enjoy some amusing nights. The village is also known for its summer festivals.

In the wider region of Ermioni, some interesting archeological discoveries are found offering important information that relate to its ancient origins. The Monastery of Agioi Anargyri is popular for its Byzantine frescoes as well as the spring waters. Take a boat and pass across to see the islet of Dokos. It is an uninhabited and unspoilt island of special interest where the most ancient shipwreck in the world lies.
