Elafonissos: Elafonissos Village

Elafonissos village on Elafonissos: The capital village and port of the island is Elafonissos village. It is found on the northern coast of the island and this is where the ferries from Pounta, on the opposite coast of Peloponnese, moor.

The village of Elafonissos is small and has the typical architecture of an island, with small white houses, red-tiled roofs and narrow paths. The village was found in the middle of the 19th century, when settlers from Mani, Peloponnese, migrated on that island.
