:: Portaria village

Location:
At an altitude of 650 m, 13 km from Volos city
Description: It was built around the monastery of "Panagia of Portaria", which was itself built in the 13th century. The village is filled with greenery, spring waters, cobble-stoned paths and old mansions.

:: Komboloi Museum

Location: In the village of Portaria
Description: It has on display and sale a wide variety of Komboloi -as they are popularly known- or worry-beads or prayer-beads. Komboloi made of different materials such as amber, bone, misteka, faturan amber and ivory are available for purchase.

:: Milopotamos beach

Location:
52 km East of Volos
Description: One of the best beaches of Pelion, nested in a very picturesque landscape. Milopotamos beach is divided into two separate beaches, connected by an opening in the rock.

:: Makrinitsa village

Location: 16 km Northeast of Volos
Description: A pure jewel hanging on the side of the amazingly green mountain. It was mostly inhabited by wealthy people and this is why most of the houses in Makrinitsa are noble mansions.

:: Papa Nero beach

Location: East Pelion
Description: The best beach of Pelion offers soft white sand, and its is vast enough to absorb large crowds. The rocky headland and the shore at the southern end of the beach provides a nice snorkeling experience when the sea is calm. Several cafes and restaurants line the beach.

:: Tsagarada village

Location: 51 km East of Volos
Description: Two elements characterize this village: the large flower garden houses and a huge and imposing one thousand-year-old plane tree located right in the middle of the Agia Paraskevi’s square.

:: Agios Ioannis beach

Location: About 55 km Northeast of Volos
Description: Trees and fabulous waters combining together are forming a landscape of dreams, giving to the place a magical tone.

:: Milies Village

Location: 28 km from Volos city
Description: The village is called Millies (apple trees) because it is covered with apple trees and is producing the best apples of the entire region. Full of old mansions, marble fountains and olive trees.

:: Ski Center Agriolefkes

Location: At 1,529 metres altitude
Description: The highest village and the last one of this side of Pelion is Hania, full of hostels and inns for hosting the visitors coming during the winter to enjoy the ski centre.

:: Byzantine Monastery of Agios Lavrentios

Location: 20 km from Volos
Description: It was built in 1378 and it was named after the monk Lavrentios, who came from the monastery of Athos in Meteora and built it. The monastery of Agios Lavrentios belongs to the homonymous village, one of the most beautiful in the area.

:: Steam Train of Pelion

Location: Departs from Anavros of Volos city
Description: Construction of this railway line began in December 1894 and today it departs from Anavros in Volos city, climbing the mountain along a dreamlike route through olive groves, and passing the various traditional settlements, whistle blowing, until it reaches its final destination at Milies village. The passengers are able to enjoy the fantastic view of the sea from the peak of the mountain, and as they travel they can take photographs of the magnificent bridges. It is also called "Mountzouris-Smudgy".
