Since October 1st, 2009, the first Greek air company Olympic Airways has been renamed to Olympic Air and works under private administration. After 50 years of public management, Olympic Airways has been bought by Marfin Investment Group (MIG), the largest business group in south-east Europe, and it is getting ready for a new era!

Since early October, Olympic Air is flying to 10 external and 20 internal destinations, including many isolate destinations in Greece that would otherwise be quite troublesome to reach. Having its main base in the International Airport of Athens and in other small airports, like in Thessaloniki and Rhodes, the flights of Olympic Air are specially designed to cover the most popular routes in Greece and abroad.

The modern fleet of Olympic Air consists of 24 aircrafts: 13 Airbus A320 and A319, 7 Q400 Bombardier, 3 Dash 100 Bombardier and 1 ATR-42, but the company plans to grow its fleet by spring 2010 with 8 more aircrafts.
