An unusual fan for Greece
Born 1921 in Germany I had the traditional humanistic school education this means 7 years ancient Greece with classical literature. It was life long my desire to travel to Greece but I was for many reasons unable to do this. Last year after a very late study of law (after Chemistry and Electrical Engineering in my youth) started after my 80th birthday 2001 and finished with promotion I gave myself the benefit of 10 days traveling by car through your wonderful country and to many of the famous places.
I met so many nice and helpful people (although my new Greek is limited to not much more than kalimera!) and fell in love with the landscape that I will repeat the exercise in a few weeks to see whether the "crisis" has anything changed. I do not believe that what has lasted >3000 years cab be destroyed by bad news in the media.
I hope to live long enough to finish my Memoires with a Chapter "laudatio of Greece".
