I started going to Greece in the early spring of 2009 when I went to visit my daughter who was doing a semester abroad there as part of her university studies. I fell in love and have returned every year since. I am single but the men I date have serious competition. It's one thing to compete with other men, but an entire country is a formidable opponent, and Greece, without a doubt, has my heart.
Compared to most I see on Greeka.com, I am a lackluster member. I have made many friends in my travels to Greece and find I return every year to spend time with my friends more than to actually explore. I try to add a new island every time I go, (sometimes with some hilarious and disastrous results) but my plans are always centered around Sifnos and Athens and visiting the usual cast of characters young and old who tend to go at the same time every year. I have become recognizable to the men who work on the ferries who will always ask when I board, "Sifnos again???"
I am possibly the world's worst photographer- even though bad photos of Greece are almost impossible to take. I have, however, beaten the odds and have albums of blurry, off center, poorly lit pictures- Unless somebody wants to see me doing shots at the Old Captain on Sifnos, wearing a rastafarian headpiece ( Facebook is probably a better forum for that) this is why I don't have much to contribute to the photo gallery. I do love looking at everyone else's photographs while I surf the greeka pages for new island ideas. And I'm open to any ideas my fellow greekophiles have!
