Every year on 21/5 people are commemorating the re-unification an liberation of the 7 Ionic Islands. Celerations on all the 7 Islands are quite impressive, like this was the case on Kythira in 2007. Military and clerics and schoolchildren are joining together. See my Kythira album on WebShots; it will give you a better impression. The helmets are filled with herbs and then put on 3 rifles and then put alight.
