Actually, this tree sits on top of someone's burial site - an unmarked grave with stones covering on the surface. It's split into 2 trunks, one of which is a muscular elbow. It's alone with no other tree nearby, and is positioned close to a steep drop down to the sea overlooking a beautiful view to Amorgos. It cannot be seen unless you walk for half an hour from Manganari. I've know its protection from the strong summer sun for 25 years. Its dying now, but a little greenery remains in one of its higher branches. End of story!
