| About Kaare.... |
I am a teacher of media production and English in senior high school. Students are 16 to 19. Photographing has been my hobby since back in the 60's, and my job teaching what I know during the last 20 years. Mind you, I do not sell photos, I only teach teenagers how to take good pictures. At present I have a digital compact Canon G9, but all photos I have uploaded are shot with a Canon 300D and a Canon 40D.
My old Canon 300D is given away, and my new Canon 40D is now being used. I cannot say I am totally happy about the 40D. The small important buttons on the top are too fiddly. Changing ISO and white balance should be easier. Wish I could afford a Nikon D700.
These days (2009) I am occupied with Adobe Illustrator techniques. It's a great piece of software, and so much to learn.
All photos from the summer of 2009 are shot with my Canon 40D and Sigma 17-70mm and Canon 70-200mm lenses. Santorini is a heaven for photographing!

Digital photographing and editing images in Photoshop is my main hobby as well as teaching job, but wines, food and whiskies are also of great interest. I also like to cook various dishes and do some baking, too. Greece has been my favourite holiday country since my first visit in 2001, and island hopping is great. My best island so far is Naxos where I've been five times. I have also been to Kea, Syros, Paros, Antiparos and Santorini, and I am definitely going back. I've been to other countries in Europe on holiday, Costa del Sol in Spain for instance, but nothing compares to the tranquility and beauty one gets on Greek islands. The best holiday places in Europe to relax. Another thing is Greek hospitality. I have always had this warm welcome and helpful smiling hosts and hostesses there. Greek food, ohhh la la, I want to study Greek cooking! Just give me a chance! Wish I could speak Greek, though, but that'll be in another lifetime, LOL.
