Corfusian pages

I first visited Greece at age 20, in 1968.  Out of all the places in Greece I visited then, the one that stole my heart was Corfu.  I have been back to Corfu many times since then and, luckily, the villagers still remember me!

But I am enchanted by MOST of Greece.  The Greeks are the warmest people I have ever met, and maybe the most spirited.  I feel closer to them as a people than "my own people," Americans.  As I often tell Greeks, Eimai Ellenida stin cardia mou (I am Greek in my heart).

I cherish the Greek heritage in all things, maybe especially in music, which still enchants me. 

Just call me besotted!  I think I really AM Greek in my heart!

My #1 interest is Greece, in all its permutations.

I am a great reader. 

I love to travel, to experience new sights, new sounds, new smells, new people. 

I am fairly knowledgable about French and Italian film of the 1960s and 1970s -- what I consider their heyday.

I believe in living simply.  I am not a great consumer, as most Americans are.  I can live inexpensively, within reason.

I am fairly fluent in French and still remember some of my written and spoken Modern Greek.
