Thessaloniki Transportations: Information about transportations in Thessaloniki Greece

The main means to get around Thessaloniki is by bus. There are plenty and frequent buses that run all over Thessaloniki, so getting around will be easy. For transportation inside the town, there are the urban buses but if you want to go far from the city centre, eg in a beach or a village, you will have to take a suburban bus.

Moroever, there are always taxis to give a quick and more comfortable transportation from one side of the town to the other.

The construction works for the Thessaloniki Metropolitan Railway started in 2006 but it is not expected to finish before 2013.
