Although Thessaloniki is mostly famous for its nightlife and the sightseeing, there are a few nice beaches around the town. Some organized and crowded, all beaches of Thessaloniki are easy to access from the city centre. Many locals though go swimming to Halkidiki, as most beach resorts there are about an hour drive from Thessaloniki.
