I go to Halkidiki almost every spring. I usually go on spring because it is more calm, only the locals and a few early tourists, but things are kept quiet. Halkidiki is beautiful, the beaches are long and sandy, nightlife is excellent. I didn't visit historical monuments, wanted to go to Athos but I was with my girlfriend and no women are allowed there. Vourvourou beach was very nice and very close to the apartment we had rent. In April, there were not many people, so we were almost alone at the beach. Nice and very, very long. Sand was all over on Agios Mamas. Our accomodation was close so we were frequent visitors:)) Great tavern by the beach, Mr Manolis is an excellent cook and his specialite is melitzanes papoutsaki, I believe.
